Chair-based Exercise Class
This low level, safe and practical class is an excellent way of introducing the body to exercise. Exercises are performed from a seated position and are designed to promote strength, flexibility, and co-ordination while giving that all-important feeling of security and above all fun! The classes are designed for frailer older adults.

What does the class involve?
The sessions include exercise with a resistance band, and sometimes standing exercises. All of which are vital in later life.
Suitability of participants for the class
Participants should be:
- Able to transfer safely to suitable chair
- Able to sit safely in a chair without arms
- Able to support themselves in upright seated position without swaying too much
Length of the class
All classes are 45-60 minutes long.

- Boosting circulation
- Increasing mobility

- Improve performance of Activities of Daily Living
- Strengthen key muscle groups
- Promote a sense of rhythm
